Studying Childcare - QLD Government Subsidised Courses
So, you’re thinking about studying childcare. That’s great! You’re already on your way to creating a valuable career that you’ll love.
As a Skills Assure Supplier, Amazing Education & Training can offer subsidised training for eligible students. That means if you study childcare with us, you may be eligible to complete the following qualifications for a reduced fee:
Fee-free training is also available for eligible students under 25 who are undertaking, or about to commence, a childcare traineeship or apprenticeship.

Certificate 3 Guarantee (C3G) Program
The Certificate 3 Guarantee provides a government subsidy to help eligible Queenslanders obtain their first post-school certificate III level qualification.
This subsidy applies to eligible students wishing to complete a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
How much will I pay?
Under the C3G Program, eligible students pay a co-contribution fee of $1 to $2 per course unit. As a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care comprises 17 units, the total co-contribution fees for eligible students is $17-$34.
Eligibility requirements
You must:
- be at least 15 years of age
- have finished or left secondary school
- be a Queensland resident
- be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant) or temporary resident with necessary visa and work permit on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen
- not hold, or be enrolled in, a certificate III or higher level qualification (Certificate III qualifications completed at school do not apply).
Higher Level Skills (HLS) Program
The Higher Level Skills Program provides a Queensland Government subsidy to support eligible students with access to subsidised training.
This subsidy applies to eligible students wishing to complete a CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
How much will I pay?
Under the HLS Program, eligible students pay a co-contribution fee of $1 to $2 per course unit. As a CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care comprises 15 units, the total co-contribution fees for eligible students is $15-$30.
Eligibility requirements
You must:
- be at least 15 years of age
- have finished or left secondary school
- be a Queensland resident
- be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant) or temporary resident with necessary visa and work permit on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen
- not hold, or be enrolled in, a certificate IV or higher level qualification.
User Choice Program
(Apprentices and Trainees)
The User Choice Program provides public funding contribution towards the cost of training and assessment services for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees who are ineligible to receive funding under the Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s program.
This subsidy applies to eligible students wishing to study either a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (as a trainee) or a CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (as an apprentice).
You must be already undertaking, or about to commence, your traineeship or apprenticeship at an approved childcare service.
How much will I pay?
Payment varies depending on your individual circumstances, so it is best to contact us before you enrol.
However, standard student co-contribution fees are $1.60 per nominal hour with an estimated 1,108 hours and 1,288 nominal hours required for the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care respectively.
It is important to note that you may be eligible for full or partial exemption from student co-contribution fees, for example if you are a Health Care cardholder.
Eligibility requirements
School-based traineeship
You must be enrolled at a secondary school in years 10, 11 or 12.
Full- or part-time traineeship/apprenticeship
You must:
- have completed, no longer be attending, secondary school
- be at least 15 years of age
- meet other general eligibility requirements for apprenticeships and traineeships.
Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s
The Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s program offers fully subsidised training for priority apprenticeship and traineeship qualifications.
This subsidy applies to eligible students under the age of 25 who want to complete a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (as a trainee) or a CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education (as an apprentice).
You must be already undertaking, or about to commence, your traineeship or apprenticeship at an approved childcare service.
How much will I pay?
Under the Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s program, you can complete your qualification as a trainee or apprentice with Amazing Education & Training for free.
Eligibility requirements
You must:
- be under 25 years of age
- commence, or be undertaking, your training by 30 September 2022
- meet other general eligibility requirements for apprenticeships and traineeships.

If you’ve read over our Frequently Asked Questions and looked over the information about the course you are interested in, then you’re ready to begin the application process.
Prospective students must complete and submit the Enrolment Expression of Interest Form.
ENROL NOW
Amazing Education & Training will confirm that the Enrolment Form has been completed correctly and ask the prospective student for further information if required.
You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to complete the online enrolment. Amazing Education & Training will verify the USI provided by the prospective student on the Enrolment Form using the Australian Government’s USI website.
CREATE YOUR OWN STUDENT USI
When your completed Enrolment Form is received, it will be assessed to confirm if you are eligible for QLD Government Funded Program and someone from Amazing Education & Training will be in contact to notify you.

Our childcare courses are included in the Queensland Government’s Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s Program. That means if you’re under 25 and eligible, you can study your Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care with no out-of-pocket costs.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), is a process for giving students a credit for units in which they have acquired skills, knowledge and experience.
Recognition of Prior Learning will be given to students for competencies they may have acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning if the Amazing Education & Training assessment process determines they meet the requirements specified in the relevant training package or accredited course. An Amazing Education & Training trainer and assessor will advise a student of the RPL process, application and evidence requirements, possible outcomes and indicative timeframes.

Refund Policy
A full copy of Amazing Education & Training’s refund policy can be seen in the Student Handbook The following applies:
FEE-FOR-SERVICE
- Withdraw prior to the agreed start date – FULL REFUND* (apart from enrolment fee)
- Withdraw on or after the agreed start date – NO REFUND*
- Course withdrawn by Amazing Education and Training or if Amazing Education and Training is unable to provide the course for which the original offer was made – FULL REFUND
* Partial refunds will be considered under compelling and compassionate circumstances. Students must provide all supporting evidence (such as a medical certificate). In this case, refunds will be on a pro-rata basis for students who fall ill or are injured to the extent that they can no longer undertake the course. No refund will be given for training and assessment that has been provided. Refunds are at the discretion of management and may be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. The enrolment fee is non-refundable.

PAYMENT OF COURSE FEES IN ADVANCE
Multiple options are available for the payment of course fees. Amazing Education and Training will accept payment of no more than $1000.00 prior to course commencement. Following commencement, fees paid in advance for services not yet delivered will not exceed $1500.00.
CO-CONTRIBUTION FEES – Certificate 3 Guarantee & Higher Level Skills
- Withdraw prior to the agreed start date – FULL REFUND

STUDENT CONTRIBUTION FEES - User Choice Trainees / Apprentices
Where a student contribution fee has been charged and collected, a full refund will be provided for each unit of competency where no participation in training was undertaken by the trainee/apprentice.
The refund process is automatic, and no refund application is necessary.

You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to complete the online enrolment. Amazing Education & Training will verify the USI provided by the prospective student on the Enrolment Form using the Australian Government’s USI website.
